Reporting from GIS Day in Bakersfield

On November 16th 2011 Liberty High School hosted a Great GIS Day event! The event was conducted by Talented GIS students and coordinated/chaperoned by History and GIS teacher Mr. Jay Eliades. The event room was set up with many work stations portraying student projects, County, City, and State GIS web services. The students also conducted two live 3D presentations using ESRI’s “City Engine & ArcScene” software. Amongst the students “future GIS Professionals” were Bakersfield’s Central Cal URISA Chapter members, Crème de la Crème of Kern County’s GIS Professionals. Liberty High School will produce the next generation of GIS professionals thanks to the hard work and dedication of Mr. Jay Eliades, Liberty High School, and the Kern High School District.
That evening Central California URISA sponsored a group of GIS users from the region to meet for appetizers and conversation at a local restaurant.
Thanks for everything
