The GIS Mapping Coordinator/Land Support Technician provides GIS mapping products for the land and geo-tech departments and assists the land department with lease processing and data entry
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain lease inventory map utilizing ARC GIS program resulting in detailed company leasehold maps that include accurate lease tract cuts, lease numbers, AMI boundaries, broker job numbers and leasehold ownership percentages.
- Cross-reference and check mineral ownership percentages with Lease Inventory Spreadsheet and Visual Landpro to ensure accuracy of data shown on various maps.
-Produce detailed snap shot land lease maps and contract land exhibits as directed by land managers.
- Communicate and coordinate with land lease brokers to confirm tract ownerships and broker flow chart tract numbers. Confirm all separate tracts are included and accurately numbered on the Lease Inventory Map.
- Review and map all competitor oil and gas lease positions on competitor lease GIS layer, utilizing recorded competitor leases supplied monthly by lease brokers.
- Interact with geology department to provide GIS mapping products as requested.
- Provide support with data entry and maintenance of lease records application to provide continuity between GIS maps and lease data.
Skill Set, Education and Experience:
1. Minimum two (2) year’s experience with ARC GIS Desktop or Everest GIS (LandPro Mapping Module) or comparable computer mapping software.
2. Graduate of a post-secondary Geographic Information System (GIS) certificate program.
3. A self-starter, personable, independent, team player able to work in a small-office environment.
4. Oil and gas experience an asset.

The incumbent is based in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Management Section of the Resource Management and Science (RMS) Division. This Protection GIS Specialist and Resource Data Analyst position is split between the Protection Division (80%) and the RMS Division (20%).
This position supports the prevention, eradication, and restoration of illegal marijuana cultivation sites in these Parks. The position focuses on identifying and using a range of technologies and services including GIS, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), remote sensing, and data management to improve law enforcement effectiveness and support improved employee and public safety.
SALARY RANGE: $57,408.00 to $74,628.00 / Per Year
