Lewis and Clark. Mac and Cheese. Maps and Apps. Some things just go together! With all of the developments occurring throughout our industry we were bound to reach “There’s an app for that!” sooner rather than later. Now when you visit the City of Merced’s Map Gallery for GIS Day and want to speak up about your favorite map, there will be an app for that. The Esri app Survey123 will allow Gallery visitors to vote on their favorite maps by downloading the app, creating an ArcGIS Online account, and requesting to join the Group Merced GIS Day Map Voting. For those of us who are always running out of phone space, or are pressed for time, there is a shortened URL that can be entered into your phone’s web browser, no downloads required. Not only does Survey123 offer a new level of interaction with the Map Gallery, it’s also extends to field data collection for utilities, grad students, nonprofit organizations, and disaster response. Visit https://survey123.arcgis.com/ to see how you can utilize this tool in your own work.
